2024, The beginning....
A shared sense of urgency brings us together this October as the T. Rose Foundation hosts its Pink & Purple on Purpose events. Focused on raising awareness for both Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, these gatherings bring survivors, community members, and supporters together in a deeply personal way. With stops in Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Flushing, Michigan, the events are more than a simple acknowledgment of struggle—they are about making space for the stories, resilience, and resources that survivors need.
Theresa Randleman, founder of the T. Rose Foundation, leads these efforts with a clear vision—bridging the gap between awareness and tangible support. “Pink & Purple on Purpose is our way of giving voice to the brave survivors of breast cancer and domestic violence while ensuring that they know they are not alone. We hope to not only raise awareness but also provide real support and tangible resources to those who need it most,” Randleman stated. Her words set the tone for these events, which prioritize the needs of survivors above all else.
We are seeking donations of blankets, scarves, socks, personal care items, and hygiene products for distribution to shelters and patients. Items will be collected and packaged during each event.
